The center of Tomsk is a large campus. The central avenue is lined with buildings of six universities, student dormitories, libraries, public gardens, museums, and cafes, all within walking distance of each other.
Tomsk is surrounded by the forest, and the Tom River cuts right through the city center: ample opportunities await anyone who seeks to experience nature. No need to travel far, the “Polytechnic” stadium and numerous city parks offer picturesque views and pleasant tracking paths.
A large choice of sport activities available both during the summer and winter time, among them are skiing, martial arts, paragliding, hiking and diving.
Tomsk region consistently ranks among the top ten Russian regions in the environmental ranking, and is a national leader in terms of availability of healthcare services. The city has world-class medical centers, and an interuniversity polyclinic for students that provides English-language service to international patients.
